9 women a day are murdered in Mexico every day. Femicides are sadly a big part of Latin America and when moving to Vancouver I realized how they were not exempt from gender violence. Indigenous women are the main target for these type of cirmes. I wanted to unite the mexican feminist movement with the pink cross symbolizing the femicides with Vancouver.
After doing some research I looked into victims in the Vancouver East Side area,which is where most of these crimes happen and after knowing their names and cases, visited the specific sites where this murders happened and put up a the pink cross acknowleding their lives.
